I participated in the externship because of your company’s positive reputation, and ties to JMU Marketing. My goal was to learn as much as possible about PPC, and experience the culture of a smaller, growing, digital marketing agency.
How was your experience during the externship and what was your biggest takeaway?
I had a fantastic experience externing. I had the opportunity to talk to everyone on the PPC and SEO teams. I am extremely grateful that everyone took the time out of their day to meet with me, answer questions, and give insightful and helpful advice. I also loved having the opportunity to work on the PPC campaign for G-Force. Outlining the campaign and building ad groups and keyword lists was a beneficial project. I learn best through firsthand experience, so this activity was perfect for me. Mollie, Allison, Yvan, and Leanne all gave helpful feedback, and we had an excellent discussion about the campaign, the Google challenge, and Richmond. My biggest takeaway was the culture. It was interesting to see the work environment of a smaller agency. The company has tight-knit and dedicated employees that all seem to love working there.
What would you tell other Marketing Majors about externship opportunities at our company?
I will tell other marketing majors how positive and valuable this externship was, and how friendly and helpful every employee is. I will highly recommend other students to look into your company for future externship opportunities.
