Last night, ChamberRVA's 2016 IMPACT Awards recognized local businesses making a difference in their industry. We shared the stage with two other companies doing amazing work in Richmond, and we are so honored to have won!

We are thrilled and humbled to be recognized for the impact Workshop Digital has on the Richmond community. We were judged on our economic, employee, and community contributions.

But they missed one—the impact you all have on Brian and me.

We talk to each other a lot about accountability, but it’s just a fancy word for the responsibility we feel to live up to your expectations and keep delivering on the “quality, happiness, and growth” trifecta at work. If we can do that, we move a long way toward accomplishing our goal of being the best place to do great work.

This win is huge for all of us, but, honestly, we were most excited to take everybody to the event and be a part of it as a team.

We are winning recognition for our efforts, and it should not be taken for granted. The trophies are flattering but not the reason we show up everyday. Brian and I get to accept on behalf of the company, but they are your awards, not ours.

We will always plan for new quarters, evaluate previous ones, and win the occasional award. But it gets to be too much if you think about it all at once. Do your best work, support each other, and take care of our clients. The rest will manage itself.

Congrats to all of you!
