Workshoppers are Out and Active

Oct 19, 2021

We are empowered to be awesome in work and life.

This core value drives us to take time to enjoy our personal lives, and support our team members to do the same.

Workshoppers embody a “work hard, play hard” mentality. When we’re on the job, creating and implementing customized client strategies is our #1 priority. When we step away from our computers, we’re on the move!

I try to bike as much as I can. It keeps me fit, my resting heart rate low, and my head clear. I almost never return from a bike ride in a bad mood, especially if I left in one. And, it's good mental training for consistently pushing myself to improve.

A couple of years ago, my wife and I started competing in triathlons as a way to motivate ourselves to continue exercising with a purpose. Training and competing together has given us something to take our minds off of the day-to-day stresses and focus on longer term goals.

We love going on family walks. My favorite part of going on walks with my daughter are our wonderful conversations.

I enjoy running and sometimes I'll do kickboxing or cycling drop-in classes. Richmond has great outdoor classes, like outdoor barre or yoga, and many are donation based so it's a good way to be outside and support local!

When hiking in nature, I leave everything behind and take time to assess my life, and find myself feeling motivated at the end.

Staying active is a fun way to get together in person (or virtually).

In September 2021, our team participated in the Sports Backers Anthem Inc. Corporate 5K. The event offered something for everyone. Workshoppers local to Richmond raced in-person, and all team members had a virtual option to run/walk at home, record their time, and snap a pic! Proceeds from the run supported Greater Richmond Fit4Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving children’s health and wellness and reducing childhood obesity in our community.

Happy people make happy, successful employees. We believe in encouraging our team and their families to stay active, and have fun while doing it.
